Girl, 8, wins award for messiest bedroom in UK – her dad says it’s a ‘bomb zone’

An 8-year-old girl from Glasgow has been crowned as the owner of the messiest bedroom in the UK. What a title!

Little Emily was entered into a competition by her dad, Steve, after getting tired of seeing his daughters room in a mess – he even compared it to a “bomb zone”.

The competition was started by bed retailer, Happy Beds, as they searched nationwide to find the messiest children’s bedroom.

Parents up and down the country have been submitting some seriously untidy snaps of their kid’s room in order to secure the messy title.

And, for their child to win a brand new bed from the company worth over £400.

Parent Steve is now glad to get a bit of personal space back as he hopes Emily will change her ways after securing the title and of course, the new bed.

He said: “My daughter Emily unfortunately treats her room like more of a changing room and spends almost all her time in the family room instead (aren’t we lucky).

“Anytime tidying is enforced it takes no more than a week to revert back to looking like a bomb zone. I’m hoping a new bed inspires positive change and behaviour.”

After understanding that getting children to tidy their rooms can be a struggle at times, Happy Beds thought the competition would bring an incentive for the kids to finally tidy their rooms.

Lucy Bolland, Marketing Manager at Happy Beds, said: “We all know that getting children to tidy their rooms can be a difficult task and we feel for these parents! It’s important to have a tidy room to help you feel peaceful and sleep well.”

“We hope Emily loves her new bed and that this is an incentive to keep her room tidier in future.”

Although Emily is now owner of the new bed and sits upon the messiest bedroom throne, there are some strong, or should we say very messy, runners up:
