Ellie Leach’s famous family: Meet the Strictly Come Dancing star’s famous relative
Ellie Leach has been stunning the judges on Strictly Come Dancing so far, and it looks like she and partner Vito Coppola could be strong contenders for the Glitterball trophy.
The actress, 22, is one of the nine celebrities remaining on this year's Strictly, following five eliminations – Zara McDermott, Eddie Kadi, Jody Cundy, Nikita Kanda and Les Dennis all been voted off – and Amanda Abbington's decision to exit the show.
Ellie found fame on Coronation Street when she was just 10 years old and she remained on the ITV soap up until earlier this year, when she decided to leave her role as Faye Windass in a bid to pursue other opportunities.
Acting is clearly a talent that runs in Ellie's family, as her older cousin is fellow ex-Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent, 31, who played Sophie Webster on the soap for 15 years.
Mum-of-two Brooke took on the role in 2004 and remained a Corrie regular up until 2019, when she exited the show to have her first child with footballer boyfriend Kean Bryan. The couple are parents to sons Mexx and Monroe.
Despite their eight year age gap, Brooke and Ellie, who is godmother to Mexx, share an exceptionally close bond and Brooke has been heading to Elstree Studios on Saturday nights to support Ellie on Strictly.
Ellie has even referred to herself as Brooke's "mini-me" in the past. In a sweet post to mark Brooke's 30th birthday last year, the Faye Windass star penned: "All I’ve wanted to do since I was younger is be like you. To dress like you, to have my hair the way you have yours, to wear them 7 inch platform heels you wore, which I still have no idea how, but most of all to be the kind of person you are."
Brooke also made sure Ellie had a good send-off when she decided to leave Corrie and sign up for Strictly, organising a surprise get together for Ellie and her loved ones.
The 31 year old has been with Ellie every step of the way on her Coronation Street journey, and it looks like she's always been on-hand to provide advice to her younger cousin.
As Ellie prepared to leave Corrie, she revealed to OK! and other members of the press the advice that Brooke had given her when she was just 10 years old.
Ellie explained: "She was like, be yourself, everyone will love you, and that's what I've done.
"I've just been myself, and that is why I have been here so long, I've been myself, but also, I made this part of me, and that will never go away. Corrie and Faye Windass will always be a part of me."
