Diddy says hes ‘back on my two feet’ after Kim Porter’s death as he handles parenting duties
Diddy is opening up about how his life has changed following the death of his ex and mother of his children, Kim Porter.
The hip hop icon and business mogul revealed he has a new role now, labeling himself “Daddy/Mommy.”
The music maker shared footage from an early morning ride to his kids’ school on social media Monday, showing how he’s adjusted since Porter’s death about two-and-a-half weeks ago. They share three children together: Christian Casey Combs, 20, and twins Jessie James Combs and D’Lila Star Combs, 11.
“Today, the journey begins,” Diddy, 49, said in a video he captioned “Day 1” on Twitter, which tied together a series of Instagram Stories. “Thank y’all for all your prayers and support. I’m now a part of the 6 a.m. crew. This is Mommy-slash-Daddy, Daddy-slash-Mommy checking in.”
Diddy elaborated on his new moniker later in the video.
“When y’all hear me say ‘Daddy/Mommy,’ all my single mothers they know what that is, even some single fathers,” he said, “Guys step up and play both roles. Mothers do it all the time.”
And Diddy is embracing his new role, as he told followers.
“This Daddy/Mommy thing is beautiful. I love it,” he shared, adding there is a downside. “You just have to get up early in the morning, like real early, like early.”
