Dad counts up contents of Celebrations box – and it’s bad news for Galaxy fans

Ever wondered why our favourite treats never hang around in variety tubs?

It may not actually be that your partner is snaffling all the good ones.

This month, a man sparked fury by counting out chocolates in a Quality Street tub.

And now, Celebrations has been put through a similar audit.

A foodie revealed the contents of the confectionary tub on the Family Lockdown Tip & Ideas Facebook group.

They counted up how many of each chocolate type they had in three boxes from 2017 to 2019.

The chocolate fan revealed: “After seeing the excellent work a fellow lockdowner did analysing a tub of Quality Street, I thought I would share my own three year study into Celebrations.

“The wife has safely hidden away a tub ready for this year. The fun never stops in our house.”

According to the foodie’s findings, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel and Twix were in shortest supply for him last year – making up just 9% of the tub each.

But in contrast, there were plenty of Milky Way, Snickers and Mars minis.

These chocolates garnered 19%, 17% and 16% of the space in the in respectively.

Findings differed in previous years.

Back in 2018, Maltesers ended up being the most prevalent chocolate option.

Meanwhile, 2017 saw Mars and Twix take the top spots.

In all three cases though, Galaxy Caramel and Galaxy were in lower supply.

That could explain all the squabbles at Christmastime!

The foodie’s post garnered 2,700 likes on Facebook – and more than 518 people commented on the post.

One responder said: “It should be illegal to have that many Bountys in there.”

But another disagreed, writing: “Really interesting. I just want more Galaxy Caramel and Bounty.”

A third wrote: “I feel I need to see the 2020 results. Please wife.”

And a fourth added: “Still mourning the loss of the Galaxy Truffle.”

Before we leave you to rifle through your boxes of Celebrations and count each chocolate up, it’s worth noting that contents of boxes can vary from customer to customer.

Daily Star Online has contacted Mars for comment.
