Cybill Shepherd: Les Moonves canceled my show after I refused his advances
Cybill Shepherd says her eponymous mid-1990s sitcom “Cybill” might have gone on for another five seasons had she not rejected the sexual advances of disgraced CBS chief Les Moonves.
“I didn’t fall on the right side of Les,” she told SiriusXM host Michelle Collins in an interview that aired Thursday. “And I wasn’t going to fall at all for Les.”
When Collins asked if she’d had many one-on-one encounters with Moonves, who was then the president of CBS Entertainment. Shepherd recounted one occasion when their assistants scheduled a dinner date.
“He was telling me his wife didn’t turn him on, some mistress didn’t turn him on. And I’m watching him drink alcohol and he says, ‘Why don’t you let me take you home?’ “
Shepherd said she declined, saying she already had a ride waiting for her, courtesy of a friend who was an off-duty LAPD officer.
