The family of a mother who has been missing for over five weeks have been told that the body of a woman has been found.

Kimberley Kettlety, who has two sons, was last seen on Thursday, November 8.

Wales Online reports that she was spotted near the Dolman Theatre and Lower Dock Street area of Newport.

Gwent Police have confirmed that the body of a woman had been found close to the River Usk.

A spokesman for the force said: "While formal identification has yet to take place, the family of Kimberley Kettlety have been informed of this development."

He added that the death is not being treated as supicious.

The family are being supported by specialist officers.

Just days ago, her husband Gareth Kettlety had been leading a campaign to track down the 35-year-old.

He organised search parties, handed out leaflets, and spread the message on social media.

He pleaded to have her home in time for Christmas.

Train mechanic Gareth said he hadn’t initially told his sons Max, 11, and Ethan, seven, of the seriousness of their mum’s disappearance.

However had explained to avoid them hearing it from elsewhere.

Gareth said presents she had bought the boys for Christmas were found after she disappeared.
