Woman has meltdown when she realises what she REALLY looks like… and vows never to leave the house again – The Sun

A WOMAN had a meltdown after realising how she looked in real life – and was so ‘mortified’ she vowed to never leave the house again.

Ruby Blackman, from Brighton, shared her revelation in a clip on Tik Tok, where it’s since gone viral after being viewed 2.7 million times.

Happy birthday to me ?

In the clip Ruby is using the front-facing camera on her phone, which operates like a mirror.

The video was later shared to Twitter, and she says: “I just found out something mortifying.

“That every single person who sees me every day sees this.”

She flips the camera the other way round – mimicking how she appears in real life.

Ruby added: “Just plain rude that nobody told me.

“Just why wouldn’t you tell me this is what you have to see.

“I would just not leave the house.”

The selfie camera on a phone operates in the same way as a mirror, providing a mirror image and not a true representation of how we look.

After Ruby posted her video, others were equally horrified to learn how they really appeared in real life.

One person said: “I discovered this like a few years ago, my life hasn’t been the same since.”

Somebody else tweeted: “The side part / bang community is up in flames because of this realisation.”

A third commented: “Soo what I see in the mirror is what I look like?

"Not what I look like in the camera. I’ve always wanted answers to this.”

While someone else tried to explain: “In the camera your face is opposite of what other people see, same thing as a mirror, basically any reflection.”

Meanwhile the BBC’s Christmas food guide has been slammed for recommending one roast potato per person.

And the Queen has been praised by fans for posing with her hands in her pockets.
