Princess Anne has braved the chilly weather for day three of the Cheltenham Festival today, wrapped up in a smart grey coat and knee-high boots. Her tonal outfit was accessorised with a soft black hat and colourful silk scarf loosely draped around her neck. The Princess Royal was joined by fellow horse-loving royal, Zara Tindall, and her husband Mike Tindall at the event.

Sporting a light grey woven winter coat, Princess Anne was pictured intently watching the races at the Cheltenham site.

With the large collar propped up around her neck, and the buttons done up from top to bottom, the royal was suitably dressed for the chilly weather.

While she chose comfort over a bold style, the keen rider used low-key accessories to brighten up her outfit.

One of which was a red, orange and grey silk scarf loosely draped over the top of her coat.

The scarf appeared to have a light grey base colour with patches of deep red, burnt orange and warm yellow tones to form a pattern.

Serving as an accessory rather than to keep warm, the thin fabric was loosely tied in a low knot.

Though Anne is known to re-style outfits for public engagements, the chic grey coat has not been seen before.

The scarf has also made its debut at the Cheltenham races.
