People are using TEABAGS to clean glass – and the results are so good they’re swearing off pricey sprays for life

CONFESSION time: we have an unhealthy obsession with surface sprays. Cheap, pricey, scented, unscented – we have one for every occasion.

But even with all our various options, we still find it almost impossible to get our glass surfaces streak-free. That is, until now.

That's right, Mrs Hinch superfans are using teabags to get their microwaves, shower screens and even their windows gleaming.

Posting on the Facebook group Hinch Army Cleaning Tips, one woman explained how she got her microwave door sparkling without any unsightly streaks leftover.

She wrote: "I used one Yorkshire teabag in a mug of boiling water, left until the water was cold.

"Then I dipped the corner of Blitz kitchen roll into the tea and wiped it over the microwave. I didn't buff it dry, it looked streaky to begin with but dried streak free!"

Meanwhile, another member of the group posted impressive before-and-after images of how well the cold tea bags got rid of soap scum on her shower screen.

But that's not all cleaning fans are using teabags for – as the tannic acid also promises to leave windows and mirrors sparkling.

Commenting on the post, one replied: "Cold tea is awesome, done all my windows and also toaster."

Swearing off their go-to surface spray, another wrote: " What sort of witchcraft is this?! Excellent result."

While others were inspired by the hack, writing: " Think I'm going to make a batch and put it in a spray bottle!" Us too.

For more cleaning tips and tricks, this woman who tried everything to clean her burnt non-stick pan got it sparkling again in two simple steps.

And this woman cleaned up mouldy 15 year old blinds she was about to bin with 99p spray – and they look as good as new.

Plus this woman completely changed the colour of the grotty patio she hasn’t washed in SIX years using £2 The Range spray.
