OAMC Honors Daniel Johnston's Artworks in New Capsule

OAMC has emblazoned artworks of the late musician’s Daniel Johnston over a concise range of silhouette in a new capsule. Featured is a padded coach jacket, a bomber jacket, an M-65 liner, a crewneck, a hoodie and a T-shirt. This capsule follows a collaboration with Daidō Moriyama from last month.

Spotlighting the range is Johnston’s iconic character Jeremiah the Innocent, featured on the sweater, liner, hoodie and T-shirt. The words “Hi, How Are You?” are shown above the quirky illustration, and to reflect the original sketch, each piece shows a monochromatic graphic of it — the liner sports a special resin-coated texture that’s been placed directly over the quilted nylon, while the T-shirt comes with a screen-printed graphic. Besides this illustration, the white coach jacket showcases other sketches from Johnston’s notebook, like a turtle and a man smoking. Lastly, the nylon jacket with a black patch label on the upper left chest rounds off the concise assemblage.

The Daniel Johnston x OAMC 2020 capsule will be exclusively available on OAMC’s website on November 19, 4 a.m. EST — prices have yet to be confirmed. A portion of the proceeds from this capsule will be donated to the “Hi, How Are You” project. “a non-profit organization inspiring new conversations around mental health issues.”
