My wedding was ruined after the venue refused to turn up the music, people couldn’t hear anything – we’re suing for $5M

HAVE you ever heard of a wedding being celebrated without music? Well, there's a first for everything.

A couple's special day was ruined when the Brooklyn hotel, where they hosted the ceremony, allegedly refused to pump up the party with some reasonably loud music.

According to the Daily Mail, Marjorie, and Russell Newman, the bride's parents, are taking legal action against the venue and wedding planner for $5 million.

After having spent a big chunk of change on the ceremony, they claimed the Brooklyn Pier 1 hotel never notified them of the new noise level rule.

The father of the bride claimed: "They never brought us in to say, 'This is what it is going to sound like or not sound like.'

"They never gave us the opportunity to move the venue."

The hotel allegedly carried out the new rule just three weeks before the ceremony to be considerate of the tenants in the residential condos within the building.

And it wasn't until after the reception had already begun that they were told they had to keep the music at a low level.

In fact, the DJ had to keep the noise level so low that the couple's first dance was ruined.

It reportedly left the new bride "hysterically crying."

Besides ruining it for the newlyweds, the guests could barely hear the music.

On top of the new noise rule, the couple and their 200 guests were allegedly relocated into a room meant for only 60 people.

Marjorie claimed: "There was nowhere to sit."

"It was very, very devastating. This was supposed to be [my daughter's] night to shine and it was all taken away from her."

The Sun reached out to the Brooklyn Pier 1 hotel but they refused to comment on the allegations.

And while one bride's night was destroyed due to the noise level, another bride was rushed to the hospital after holding a bouquet of poisonous flowers.
