My neighbors are the devil – I built my own privacy fence, it cost $1,200 but is worth it, we got the pretty side | The Sun

AN ANIMAL rescuer is celebrating the erection of her own privacy fence, despite the hefty costs.

She may have been poorer by $1,200 but as far as she was concerned it was worth every cent.

It meant they were finally shielded from the unwelcome attentions of her neighbors, who she described as "the devil."

There was another plus too for their new timber barrier: they got the pretty side.

But for this TikToker the biggest thrill was the knowledge that her beloved dogs were safe.

“When the child next door keeps hurting your dogs through the fence," she captioned her post, although she did not specify exactly what had happened.

An animal rescuer and passionate devotee to wildlife rehabilitation, she has rescued and nurtured back-to-life opossums and raccoons in her time.

But it was the safety of her dogs that was her focus in this video, and it has gone viral with over 2.5 million likes and thousands of comments.

In the video, a mechanized fence post driller could be seen drilling holes in the timber posts.

She felt the chain link did little to provide safe haven for her pooches, so a plan was set in place to provide something more secure.

Once the uprights were in position, the wooden panel were fixed in place, creating a more substantial and rigid privacy fence.

“Glad you gave yourselves the pretty side of the fence,” said one commenter and she was in total agreement.

“Oh, absolutely. If I’m gonna spend $1,200 on a fence because of them I’m gonna have the nice side," she wrote. "Bad neighbors got the ugly side of the fence."

She was happy because finally, she had: “Safe doggies.”

Commenters were impressed at her dedication to the safety and welfare of her dogs.

“Bless you for protecting your fur babies," was a comment typical of many more.

“Perfect they deserve to be safe," said another viewer.

The final commenter bemoaned the fact that she had to do it at all.

“It’s sad y’all have to do all that cuz of bad neighbors, they are the worst. Great dog keeping them doggos safe," she said.
