Meghan and Harry latest news – Duchess told 'GET OUT NOW' as lawsuit threatens to expose secrets she wants to hide

MEGHAN Markle has been told to drop her privacy case "now" if she doesn't want more of her secrets to be exposed in court.

Mark Stephens, of British firm Howard Kennedy, told Newsweek: "If I was advising Meghan I'd be saying get out now.

"The more that she protests about wanting to protect her privacy, the more that people are going to investigate how she has curated the Streisand effect of amplifying the positive PR and negativizing the other PR," he added.

His comments come after Meghan was accused of using friends as 'de facto media relations agents' to feed at least 49 pieces of personal information to the authors of the gushing Finding Freedom biography.

Meghan is suing the Mail on Sunday for printing extracts from a letter she sent her dad Thomas, saying it breached her privacy.

But the counter claim is that the Duchess is perfectly happy to expose details of her private life when it is beneficial to her.

DUCHESS OF SUSSEX AT RISK OF SUFFERING 'STREISAND EFFECT'

Meghan Markle is clearly protective of her privacy, but is at risk of following in the footsteps of singer Barbra Streisand and attracting more negative publicity as a result of legal action over an article, warns legal expert Mark Stephens.

In an interview with Newsweek about her action against the publishers of the Mail on Sunday, he said: “She's had an invasion of privacy and she feels strongly about it but the reality is she has only got a downside here.

“The more that she protests about wanting to protect her privacy, the more that people are going to investigate how she has curated the Streisand effect of amplifying the positive PR and negativising the other PR.”

Newsweek explains that the so-called “Streisand effect” describes how publicly fighting a perceived negative article can worsen – and expand – the original message.

The singer/actor sued snapper Kenneth Adelman for taking pics of her clifftop Malibu home, while photographing the California coastline.

The BBC said her action resulted in 420,000 views of that image, which had only been downloaded six times before Streisand's lawsuit.

    MEGHAN ADVISED TO ABANDON LAWSUIT

The Duchess of Sussex should quit her privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, urges a legal expert.

Mark Stephens, of Howard Kennedy, told Newsweek: “If I was advising Meghan I'd be saying get out now.

“This is another hole below the waterline.

“The risk is that how she curates her reputation, what she allows into the public domain and what she doesn't, are now things that will be picked over by lawyers in cross-examination.”

She is suing the Mail on Sunday over the publication of a letter she wrote to her estranged dad, Thomas, in 2018.

Stephens' advise comes after Meghan lost a court battle to block claims she allegedly co-operated with the authors of Finding Freedom.

MEGHAN 'NEVER GOING TO BE A ROUTINE ROYAL'

American star Meghan Markle is “difficult” and has an “incredible and dangerous level of self-belief”, according to a royal biographer behind bombshell new book, Battle of Brothers.

Robert Lacey pulls no punches when discussing the Windsors' treatment of Meghan – the actress who married Harry in 2018.

He told the Daily Mail: “There is only one self-made millionaire in the Royal Family and that is Meghan Markle.

“If they had sat down with her at the start and said, 'Let’s talk about the things you are interested in', things might have been different.”

He adds: “She was never going to be a routine royal.”

MEGHAN'S NUTRITIONIST SAYS YOGHURT IS THE SECRET TO HER FIGURE

Gabriela Peacock, who shaped Meghan's pre-wedding diet, has claimed that eating a spoonful of yoghurt before every meal can aid weight loss.

She claims the dairy dish will help blitz body fat by tricking your body into reducing insulin and blood sugar spikes.

The model turned nutritionist told The Telegraph: “I tell my clients to eat some spoonfuls of yoghurt before a meal.

“By starting your meal with protein as opposed to carbohydrate, you reduce the insulin and blood sugar spikes that come from releasing carbs into your blood stream.

“So having a bit of yoghurt – or some cheese or ham – is a useful trick.”

MEGHAN 'SHOWED SIGNS OF ANGER' IN RECENT APPEARANCE

A body language expert has said that the Duchess of Sussex “showed signs of anger” in A recent video appearance.

Meghan, 39, spoke at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit by video link, saying the current coronavirus pandemic was forcing people to “go through a reset”.

Judi James told The Mirror: “The splaying and pit-baring looks confident and gently powerful, as does the preen gesture with her hair, while the very subtle lower jaw-jut and a few sharp, accelerated blinks hint at some anger, although her tone overall signals bewilderment from a woman who tells us she has not been controversial in what she says in the past.”

THE £47 CANDLE MEGHAN BURNS IN HER SANTA BARBARA HOME

THERE ARE 49 DETAILS IN FINDING FREEDOM THAT COULD HAVE ONLY COME FROM MEGHAN, IT'S BEEN CLAIMED

Meghan used her friends as 'de facto media relations agents' to feed at least 49 pieces of personal information 'which could only have come from her' to the authors of her gushing biography, it was claimed today.

The Duchess of Sussex allegedly colluded with the writers of Finding Freedom as part of “a media strategy to improve or enhance her image” which started shortly after she married Prince Harry in 2018.

Meghan, 39, is suing the Mail on Sunday for printing extracts from a letter she sent her dad Thomas, saying it breached her privacy.

But in new papers filed today the newspaper says the Duchess of Sussex does not have “any reasonable expectation of privacy” because she secretly shared intimate secrets with Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

It claims Meghan “does not object to details of her personal relationships and correspondence being publicly disclosed, provided it is couched in terms that are favourable and flattering to her”.

The paper says Meghan became “increasingly frustrated that the press coverage she received was not to her liking and did not do her justice” and “wanted to take more active steps to promote a positive image of herself”.

HARRY AND MEGHAN WERE RIGHT TO MOVE TO THE US, SAYS ROYAL COUSIN

Writing for Tatler, Christina Oxenberg, 57, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were right to move to the US because Americans are “easy to please”,

Christina, who is the daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, a second cousin of Prince Charles, said that Brits “expect too much” and that Harry and Meghan are celebrated by the American public.

She also said that people of America are “charmed” to have their own “real life princess”, and wrote: “possibly too much is expected by the Brits from England's one-time most eligible bachelor and his actress wife.”

She continued: “To be adored in America, all Harry and Meghan need to do is pick up a dog from a shelter. Americans are easy to please. What draws scorn in England will be applauded in the States.”

And said that the press coverage will be “positive rather than petulant” and that the couple are likely to be treated “very well” by American media.

She said: “That is a beautiful thing.
