Kate and Prince William dated for eight years before they married on 29 April 2011.

They have since had three children together, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one.

Kate became the Duchess of Cambridge when she married William, who is second in line to the throne.

With the Duke having such an important role, it is likely Kate will get the title of Queen Consort in the future.

The title would give her the same social status as the King and she would have her own coronation.

The Duchess rarely made public appearances before she married but has since become a full-time working member of the Royal Family.

Kate’s style has notably changed which could reveal she is preparing for her future role, Laura Arrowsmith, lecturer in Fashion Business and Promotion at Birmingham City University, explained.

She told Express.co.uk: “Kate’s style has developed over the nine years of being married into the Royal Family and we have seen her bloom from opting for safe, expected garments to trialling trend-led pieces.

“Throughout, Kate has oozed elegance and maintained a consistent and polished look, whilst her wardrobe has continued to blossom.”

The Duchess has chosen more prominent style pieces to help develop an image of her own.

“As Kate’s role grows in importance, it is essential for her to have a presence and a clean-cut image,” Laura added.

“Her style represents a powerful woman who radiates character and kindness.”

As a senior member of the Royal Family, she has mixed traditional looks with her own personal style, the expert explained.

She said: “Opting for pieces that retain the regal look, she is now adding a modern twist, mixing high-waisted wide-leg trousers with a pussy bow blouse and adding in statement colours and prints.

“Over the years Kate has carved her own personal style, she understands what suits her frame and how she needs to present herself.”

When Kate attends royal events, all eyes are on her with many wanting to know what she is wearing.

The Duchess is not afraid to re-wear outfits and will sometimes recycle outfits many times.

Laura added: “Often seen wearing old pieces in new ways, Kate is not afraid to reinvent previous products.

“This highlights her desire to not waste and to lead her identity as a woman that is careful, considerate and mindful of the impact the fashion industry is having.”
