I’m a weather guru, don’t let the warm weather fool you – it’s too early to plant flowers outside, here’s the right time

THE WEATHER seems especially unpredictable right now.

But don't let the random warm days fool you into thinking the sun's here to stay.

Weather expert Dave King recently shared on This Morning that it's still far too cold to plant flowers.

Gardeners should hold off for another month, the pro advised.

“Some severe frost will drop out of the sky and kill all the tender plants and all the blossoms.

“So gardeners, do not put any plants out before May 20.”

Anyone with green fingers should be patient, as the pro explained incoming frost and a drop in temperatures is predicted.

Don't be fooled by the reasonable days, the chilly night time temperatures will mean tenders likely wont survive.

Dave continued: "From April 11th to April 14th, you go along the lanes and it’s called the blackthorn winter and everywhere has got white blossom.”

The term 'blackthorn winter' refers to a period of time in the spring when temperatures typically should be higher.

Once temperatures do warm up, it's perfectly fine go sow your seeds, but the chances are if it's too cold for you to sit outside, your tenders probably don't want to either.

The first half of May isn't much better the weather guru said.

Another temperature drop from May 11th to May 14th, often referred to as an ice maiden is due.

“At 3am in the morning, the temperature will be four degrees and at 4am it will be minus four.
