I tested the viral Poundland setting powder – I didn’t expect much but was stunned by the results | The Sun

WE all love a bargain, especially when it comes to hair and beauty.

Thankfully one content creator has shared her latest find – a brightening pressed powder from Poundland, costing just £1.

Saskia, known online as @saskiafield, regularly shares skincare and beauty content with her 82,500 followers.

In her latest video, the beauty guru reviews the new Make Up Gallery Smoothly Does It Pressed Powder in the shade Translucent.

“Please ignore the state of me. It is hair wash day, eyebrow day, fake tan day. You know the ones.

“But we’ve got the goods, so we’re going to test this powder out.”

The 2-minute and 50-second video sees Saskia driving to her local Poundland and picking up two shades of the powder, and a bronzer to test out.

Before applying the powder, the content creator does a light base using other viral TikTok products.

“Okay so onto the good stuff. I got two of the translucent shade.

“Does anyone else do that? I panic in case things are really good and I’m not going to be able to get my hands on it again, so I got two of them.

“And then I also got that one in the shade ‘Sand.’ That’s not a translucent.

“And then I also got a bronzer. A matte bronzer, which I thought the shade was quite nice, so we’ll try that as well.

“So that is what the powder looks like. I’m using it with just a powder puff, I’m going to pat out a bit of the excess on the back of my hand.

“Oh, it’s definitely brightening which is divine.

“The only thing that I find with pressed powders is that I just don’t find they set my under eyes as well as loose powders.

“I’m guessing it’s because you don’t pick up as much product. I do find that my under eyes tend to crease more when I use pressed powders.

“But at the same time I’ve got dry skin, so I would like to use as little powder as possible, so it’s kind of a catch-22.

“Oh my gosh, how nice does that look?

“Okay, for a £1, I love. The bronzer was really nice too.

“The only thing I don’t love about it – I’m going to give it a nine out of ten – because I don’t love the clasp.

“I feel like the clasp is really hard to prise open. Feel like I’m going to chip my nails, but still unreal.”

Fans loved Saskia’s review, with the video gaining more than 17,000 likes and 182,000 views in 16 hours.

In the comments, she confirmed how it lasted all day, writing: “Undereyes didn’t crease throughout the day! This is the best pressed powder I’ve used.”

Her followers raved about the product in the comments, writing: “I’ve literally used this powder since I was about 13 never changed.”
