I live in a council house, and I revamped kitchen on a budget, people can't believe it's the same home

IT’S always handy to have some savvy tips on hand to help save money when transforming your home.

Which is why it’s great when people share them to help others.

Chloe Anne, 23, took to TikTok to share how she completely changed her kitchen – and people are loving how different it looks.

She captioned the video, which has been viewed nearly 700k times, “How I upcycled my council house kitchen on a budget.”

In the video, you can see how her kitchen changes from brown cupboards to shiny white cupboards, with a worktop which has a wooden effect on it.

Demonstrating how she changed her kitchen around, she wrote: “I had to peel all the plastic coating as it had peeled and cracked before we moved in.”

And for the worktops she adds a wooden effect wrap on MDF board and uses a credit card to help stick it on properly.

She says: “This was time consuming but worth it.”

People rushed to the comments section to share their praise of her work.

One said: “It's good to see someone take care of a council house, pay to renovate, I see too many complaining about houses falling to bits and council not helping.”

Another added: “It's not the house or flat you live in, it's how you make it a home for your family, council or not all homes can be made beautiful.”

Someone else wrote: “Wow what a transformation.” While another added: “What a difference.”

But some asked if she had permission to do so because it belongs to the council.

However, Chloe says she plans to buy the council house in a few years,

And adds: “But it’s very easy to remove if needed; it just peels off like a sticker.”
