A BRIDE played a hilarious wedding prank on her groom by blindfolding him and getting him to retrieve the garter from his best man’s leg instead.

The funny mix-up of the usual wedding tradition left the room in stitches – and the groom red faced!

In the hilarious video, shared to Reddit, the groom can be seen blindfolded on his knees at the feet of what he believes is his new wife seated in front of him.

He seductively peels away the garter from the stocking-clad leg – belonging to none other than his best man.

The wedding party witnessing the prank struggle to contain their laughter as they watch on.

Indeed the bride herself is doubled over as she watches her oblivious man caress his pal.

And it doesn't stop there, after successfully removing the garter, he then proceeds to straddle – who he believes to be his bride – and perform a sexy lap dance.

At this point the room erupts into laughter and the red-faced groom quickly retracts in embarrassment when he realises that he's been stitched up.

Though hopefully he saw the funny side of the prank – as Reddit users certainly did!

The post was inundated with comments calling the video hilarious.

One wrote: "This is the only time I've ever laughed at this horrifically creepy 'tradition.'"

Another asked: "Is it trashy as f***? Yes.

"Is it ridiculously funny? Also yes."

And another amused used commented: "I'm highly impressed that no one involved hurt themselves laughing while this was going on- the spectators were absolutely involved in this and enjoying it."

Another acknowledged that "This is the best worst thing I’ve ever seen."

Although one user was more concerned for the groom, musing: "As long as the groom is someone who’d take his in stride, it’s funny. But if he’s someone who would hate this, it’s mean."
