Zara Tindall Dishes on Working With Horses

The 41-year-old royal, who is the daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, admits in a new interview that a love of horses runs deep in her family.

AceShowbiz –Zara Tindall feels “very lucky to work with horses.” The daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips,won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics as part of the British equestrian team, and Zara admits that a love of horses runs deep in her family.

Zara, who is told PEOPLE, “We’re very lucky to have them in our lives. Being able to do it every day is incredible and it’s such an amazing sport. Any equestrian sport, that partnership between the horse and rider, or an owner and the horse is, it’s incredible. We’re very lucky to work with horses.”

Queen Elizabeth was an enthusiastic horsewoman, while Princess Anne became the first member of the royal family to compete in the Olympic Games in 1976. Zara’s parents both remain passionate about their horses.

The 41-year-old royal shared, “Our horse are in our family, so there’s always discussions about performances and things like that. There’s horses in her life and she does a bit of breeding as well. So there’s always horse conversation going on.”

Meanwhile, Zara previously described her Olympic experience as “incredible”. Reflecting on her success at London 2012, she told “Game Changers”, “It was really the most amazing experience in the world. To have it on my home turf was incredible. It was unbelievable to be with those amazing athletes and to be part of it all. It was actually just the realisation that ‘I’ve got an Olympic medal’, it was incredible.”

Zara also credited her royal upbringing for her passion for horses. She said, “I’m very grateful to them for putting that passion and love for horses into me, I wouldn’t have been doing it otherwise. It was an easy thing to fall in love with.”
