Tuesday evening is one of the biggest nights of the year for music as the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) get ready to honor the past year’s best music videos.

Heavy hitters like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Demi Lovato and Doja Cat are all set to perform.

Plus, Taylor Swift is in with a chance of becoming the most decorated person in VMA history as she lead this year’s awards with eight nominations.

But who’s hosting the ceremony, and how can viewers tune in?

What time do the VMAs start?

Music fans should set aside plenty of time for the occasion as the VMAs will be kicking off with a pre-show at 2:30pm PST/6:30pm EST.

Best Friend rapper Saweetie will kick off the proceedings in the afternoon with the 90-minute preview.

After that, the official ceremony will finally begin at 5pm PST/8pm EST.

Who’s hosting and performing?

The show will be broadcast live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Hosting for the second year running is Nicki Minaj, and she’ll also be performing her new single Last Time I Saw You.

Also in attendance will be Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion performing their divisive new single Bongos.

Plus, Demi Lovato, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Fall Out Boy, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Måneskin, Reneé Rapp, Shakira, Sabrina Carpenter and Future will also appear.

Anitta, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Diddy, Future, Kaliii, Lil Wayne, Metro Boomin, NAV, Swae Lee, The Warning, Peso Pluma, Tomorrow x Together and Stray Together are also on the line-up.

Finally, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip hop, DMC, Doug E Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and LL Cool J will all be performing.

Where to watch

The VMAs will, of course, be live-streamed on the MTV network.

For US viewers, it will also be simulcast on CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, BET, BET Her, MTV2, VH1, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Network.

Fans who don’t have access to cable TV will still be able to tune in on the MTV website, and it will also be streamed on Paramount+.

Those not in the USA, your best option is to use a VPN and tune in to one of the above channels or streaming platforms.
