Tom Parker has admitted it was “tough” for him to watch The Real Full Monty On Ice following his brain tumour diagnosis earlier this year.

The Wanted singer exclusively revealed to OK! magazine back in October that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour called a grade four glioblastoma.

Opening up about the emotional ITV show, which he took part in in 2018, Tom wrote on Instagram: “Tough watch for me tonight watching #TheRealFullMontyOnIce Little did I know, two years later, I’d be sat here fighting for my own life for my family.”

He added alongside a throwback snap of himself on the show: “Life throws unexpected curve balls at your sometimes. It’s how we rise up and face them that’s important.

“Fate whispers to the warrior. 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'. And fight I will @being_kelsey @aureliaroseparker @bodhithomasparker”.

The 32 year old then shared his praise for his wife Kelsey, with whom he shares daughter Aurelia, one, and son Bodhi, two months. “Love you girl @being_kelsey” wrote Tom.

“Wouldn’t be where I am already without you by my side. When life puts you in tough situations don’t say ‘Why me’ say ‘Try me'".

Kelsey also shared her own sweet message and revealed she is in “complete awe” of her husband and how he has faced his brain tumour battle so far.

She wrote: “Sat watching #therealfullMontyonice with my husband who I am in complete awe of everyday. He is so strong and brave, an absolute inspiration to me and our children.

“Two years ago I sat in the audience beaming from ear to ear watching @tomparkerofficial perform. I can't wait to watch you perform again when we get over this hiccup in life”.

Tom’s celebrity pals were also quick to share their support and praise the star for how he has handled his diagnosis.

Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh wrote: “You are amazing. Total inspiration”, while Ashley Banjo, the show’s choreographer and co-presenter, shared: “Sending you all the love and prayers in the world my friend”.

Meanwhile, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star Victoria Derbyshire added: “Your words and spirit are immense,” alongside a heart emoji.

Tom has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment following his diagnosis in August.

Exclusively opening up to OK! about his diagnosis, Tom told us: "I’m still in complete shock, it’s so much to take in. I knew something wasn’t right, but I never expected it to be this. You never think this will happen to you."
