Show asks for viewers to send in their pics – but totally missed hilarious prank

Mickey Rourke and Axl Rose have been mercilessly mocked in a prank that depicted them as a happily married couple.

A Canadian news station invited viewers to send in photos to help viewers celebrate landmark birthday and anniversary dates.

However the station fell foul of a prankster who submitted a photo of 66-year-old Hollywood actor Mickey and 56-year-old Guns N’ Roses legend Axl.

An image of the pair – first captured as they spectated a boxing match in LA earlier this month – was submitted stating they were called Max and Geraldine Bailey.

The hoax suggestion made it to air with a newsreader congratulating them on their 50th anniversary.

One fan took to Twitter to share video of the hilarious slip up for all the world to see.

“WHO DID THIS?” the Twitter user asked alongside a number of crying-with-laughter emojis.

The moment also drew attention on Reddit, with one user highlighting the hilarious mishap.

“Someone decided to submit the photo of Mickey Rourke and Axl Rose for the ‘birthdays and anniversaries’ announcements for our local news station,” the Reddit user revealed – with a string of fans replying to comment.

“Whoever did this, you made my day,” one fellow Reddit user remarked.

Mickey and Axl have already endured a merciless mocking over the image – with many taking to Twitter on December 11 to joke about the pair’s appearance.

The boys were compared to “retired school teachers”, “mother and son” and “grandmothers” – with many unable to believe their unglamorous ring side appearance.
