Shetland’s Ashley Jensen enjoys date night with new husband just months after secret summer wedding

Ashley Jensen recently took on the role of DI Ruth Calder in Shetland and on Friday night, she looked incredibly loved-up as she enjoyed a date with her new husband.

The actress is reported to have secretly wed Vera's Kenny Doughty in August with her son Francis, 14, from her previous marriage, in attendance.

The pair looked more loved-up than ever as they happily posed on the red carpet before enjoying An Audience with Kylie.

Ashley, 54, glammed up for the evening in a gold leopard print dress, which she paired with sparkly gold boots.

Keeping warm, she opted for a black jacket and added some extra glamour with a gold bag. Her blonde locks were styled in loose curls and she chose dark smokey eye makeup.

Kenny meanwhile sported black trousers, a printed shirt and dark red leather jacket, and completed his look with black boots, which had touches of gold.

Ashley is reported to have wed long-term beau Kenny in August and could "barely stop smiling all day".

The actress, known for roles in Extras and Ugly Betty, wore an off-white gown with floral embroidery and coral platform shoes.

A source told the Daily Mail: "The day looked absolutely beautiful. Ashley looked just so, so happy. She was smiling and laughing, it was simply idyllic. There appeared to be so much love in that room."

"[Kenny] has been an immense support to her in the past few years," the source added.

"They make a lovely couple, and all their friends are absolutely delighted for them."

It comes just a few years after Ashley's late husband Terence Beesley took his own life.

Ashley has previously spoken about the pain of losing Terence and finding his body in the family car.

"Terry and I had been together for 18 years, but I had no idea he was capable of what he did," she explained.
