Sheridan Smith admits she has pet donkeys to keep her ‘sane’ and gushes about meeting ‘normal’ fiancé Jamie Horn on Tinder

Her beau Jamie Horn proposed just two months after they first began dating. 

And in the upcoming Christmas special of the The Jonathan Ross Show, Sheridan Smith looks happier than ever as she discusses the love of her life, who she met on Tinder. 

The acclaimed actress, 37, admitted that she found herself on a dating app as she wanted a bit of ‘normality’, before going on to reveal she also keeps grounded by spending time with the donkeys on her farm.

During her appearance on the show, Sheridan looked sensational as she wowed in a tight black dress. 

Host Jonathan was quick to congratulate her on her engagement and pressed her further on how they first met.

Sheridan admitted: ‘It’s difficult now isn’t it and I think, we’re always working with people in the industry and I wanted a bit of normality. 

‘I don’t ever get to meet anyone who is not in the industry, not that that’s bad but I just really wanted someone away from that and that’s what I’ve got.’

And it looked like Sheridan’s efforts to search for love elsewhere paid off, as she confessed: ‘I met him and I just, they say you know instantly and I’ve always been a bit like, “Oh come on” but I don’t know, we just clicked and suddenly it just wasn’t difficult anymore.’

With her past troubles well documented, Sheridan admitted she took extra lifestyle precautions away from the limelight. 

‘We’ve got our little farm with my donkeys. It’s my little bit of sanity away from the madness, to be honest,’ she explained. 

Meanwhile, Sheridan also utilised the talk show to chat about her new album, claiming: ‘The first time it was just covers and this time round it is quite revealing.’

Speaking about the writing process, the stage star revealed: ‘The record label, whilst I was on tour for the last album, they brought a load of songwriters and didn’t explain to me why they were really there. 

‘What it turned out is they had been working all night and psychoanalysing me. So everything I’d been saying, they’d been writing it down, emailing each other. 

‘Then suddenly they come round with these demos which was all words that I had said. [I said], “This is like you’ve been in my head!” They said, “No, you said it.”

‘After that we got in the studio and I think they were worried I might be offended by that but I thought it was a fascinating way of working,’ she revealed.
