Selena Gomez Looks Like Someone Who’s About to Put the E in EGOT on the Emmys Red Carpet

Some major A-listers walked the 2022 Emmy Awards red carpet this year, including Only Murders in the Building star Selena Gomez. While Selena wasn’t nominated for a Best Actress award, Only Murders was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series—and if it wins, Selena, who’s part of the production team, will take home an Emmy. Even without the win, Sel’s nomination made history: As Variety reported, this is only the second time a Latina woman “has ever been among the producing nominees for comedy series in the 74-year Emmy history.”

So, what did Selena wear for this major occasion? That’d be a sparkling white halter gown.

FYI, while it’s obviously extremely exciting that Only Murders in the Building scored 17 Emmy nominations, the cast is understandably bummed that Selena didn’t get a Best Actress nom. Steve Martin spoke to the New York Times about the snub, saying, “Well, we’re thrilled. We’re thrilled at the nominations, not only for us but for the show. We’re dismayed that Selena was not nominated because she’s so crucial to our performances, really.” Martin Short also added that “she is nominated as an executive producer.”
