Sandra Oh Wins Best Actress In A TV Drama For 'Killing Eve' At 2019 Golden Globe Awards

It’s a history-making night for Sandra Oh.

In addition to hosting the 2019 Golden Globe Awards alongside Andy Samberg, Oh went home with the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama for her role as Eve Polastri in BBC’s Killing Eve.

Oh is the first Asian woman to win the award in nearly four decades following actress Yoko Shimada’s win in the early ’80s.

“There are two people here tonight that I’m so grateful that they’re here with me,” Oh said. “I’d like to thank my mother and my father.”

The camera panned to Oh’s parents multiple times throughout the night, and each appearance was more delightful than the last.

Oh’s win is especially exciting considering her competitors in the category. The Handmaid’s Tale’s Elisabeth Moss, Caitriona Balfe of Outlander, Julia Roberts, and The Americans’ Keri Russell were also nominated.

The 76th Golden Globe Awards was held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA on January 6, 2019 at 5 p.m. PST. Killing Eve’s Sandra Oh and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg hosted the festivities.
