Rod Stewart slams Meghan and Harry for not spending Christmas with the Queen

Sir Rod Stewart is upset Prince Harry and Meghan are not spending Christmas with Queen because, at 93, she may not have many left.

The veteran singer, 74, criticised the couple for planning to be with Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, 63, in California during the festive season.

Rod said: “The Queen is 93. I flew round the world to be with my mum and dad at Christmas because I knew they didn’t have many left.”

He told a magazine: “I was disappointed Harry and Meghan decided not to spend Christmas with the Queen.”

The dad of eight, whose parents died in the 90s, said: “If I was Harry, I’d think there was plenty of time in the future to have Christmases on my own or with Meghan’s mum.”

Prince William and Kate are expected to spend Christmas Day with the Queen at Sandringham in Norfolk with their kids.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan claimed the Sussexes’ decision is a “clear snub to the Queen.”

Harry and Meghan are having a six-week break from royal duties to spend some “much-needed” family time together.

It will be their first Christmas with son Archie, born in May.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said the decision was in line with precedents set by other royals and was supported by the Queen.
