Renee Zellweger Talks To ‘Ellen’ About ‘Judy’: She’s ‘Remarkable, One In A Million’
Renée Zellweger dances it out while making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Wednesday (September 18)!
The 50-year-old Oscar-winning actress opens up about the stage fright she felt while singing in her new movie Judy, in which she portrays the late singer and actress Judy Garland.
“That stage fright scene, that was real,” Renee tells Ellen. “You know, it’s a real audience where we filmed it. Rupert [Goold], the director was determined that this was going to be an authentic experience between a performer and an audience.”
“It’s the end of her life, maybe the last year of her life. She did a series of concerts in London,” Renee Zellweger adds about the film. “A lot of people think it was the tragic part of her life but I think understanding the circumstances, in context, you can see how extraordinary she really was. Not just her god given talent but with the things she was able to overcome in order to continue to perform in that level. She is remarkable, one in a million.”
Judy will be released in theaters on September 27!
