Piers Morgan has hit out at Chrissy Teigen after she apologised for historical abusive messages she sent to Courtney Stodden.

Chrissy, 35, admitted to encouraging former Celebrity Big Brother star Courtney, 26, to commit suicide as she trolled the former teen bride in 2011.

Courtney, who is non-binary, had revealed how Chrissy "would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself" on Twitter and told them to "go to sleep forever" during one rant.

After her revelation John Legend's wife sent a heartfelt apology to Courtney, who found fame when they married actor Doug Hutchison when they were 16 and he was 50.

Piers, 56, has now waded in on the drama, calling Chrissy "despicable" for the historical messages, and urging fellow social media users to "cancel" her following the apology.

Chrissy apologised for her former behaviour in a grovelling tweet on Wednesday, where she wrote to her 13.6million Twitter followers: "Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their b******t in front of the entire world.

"I'm mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.

"I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly.

"These were not my only mistakes and surely won't be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!"

She continued: "I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize.

"I'm so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.

"And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago."

But former Good Morning Britain host Piers was not happy with Chrissy's apology, hitting out: "Does Ms Teigen, the Canceller-in-Chief of celebrity cancel culture, now get cancelled herself then?

"Or does she get a pass for her despicable conduct because she's a wokie?"

Despite his grievances, Piers' followers chose to defend the model, with one writing: "Unlike @piersmorgan she apologizes, admits her mistakes, and promises to improve."

A second asked: "Really from the bloke who stormed off his own show cos the weather man disagreed with him."

Whilst a third said: "Ironic coming from you. You bullied Meghan [Markle] and wanted a pass."
