This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield, 59, has shown an act of heroism during his summer break from the ITV show. The star took to Instagram this evening to reveal he had rushed to the aid of his neighbour, who had suffered a medical emergency after being stung three times by a bee.

Phillip shared a photo of an ambulance at the scene in view of his 3.1 million followers while explaining what had happened.

The ITV host penned: “When the gardener next door is stung 3 times by a bee and goes into anaphylactic shock.

“And our incredible ambulance and paramedic team are here in 3 minutes!!

“We are SO lucky to have them.”

Phillip continued to praise the efforts of the medical staff and their speedy response.

He also shared that his neighbour was “going to be fine”.

He added: “He’s going to be fine thanks to them, thank you.”

According to the NHS website, anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening reaction to a trigger, like an allergy.

The NHS also states that anaphylaxis is a medical emergency and can be serious for the patient if they are not treated quickly.

The symptoms of an anaphylactic shock include feeling lightheaded, breathing difficulties, wheezing, a fast heartbeat, clammy skin, confusion and anxiety, and collapsing or losing consciousness.

Phillip is currently spending more time at home as he is enjoying his summer holidays from hosting This Morning alongside co-host Holly Willoughby.

Elsewhere, the TV star recently reunited with his wife as the pair attended Ant McPartlin’s star-studded wedding ceremony over the weekend.

Phillip and his wife Stephanie Lowe were seen arriving at the St Michael Church in Heckfield to celebrate the nuptials of Ant, 45, and Anne-Marie Corbett, 43.

It comes after the presenter bravely came out as gay on This Morning last year.

Phillip and Stephanie share two adult daughters together Molly, 28, and Ruby, 25.

The pair wore matching sunglasses as they got joined Ant and Anne-Marie for their special day.

However, Phillip was seen posing for photos without his other half outside the wedding venue.

The dapper star stood beneath the floral archway while he posed for the paparazzi.

Last year, Phillip explained that his and Stephanie’s relationship was a “work in progress” after addressing his sexuality.

Addressing the situation on Chris Evans’ podcast How To Wow in October 2020, Phillip said: “I’m still married to Steph. There is a great deal of talk of divorce – we have not discussed that at all.”

The This Morning presenter added: “With divorce… that has not been discussed. We are picking our way through and however, that works and it’s a work in progress. I am a work in progress. Steph is a work in progress.”
