Star Trek actor Nathan Jung has died aged 74.

The sad news has been confirmed by his close friend and attorney Timothy Tau.

Tau told Variety that Nathan died on April 24, but no cause of death has been confirmed.

Nathan has been a prominent figure in the movie industry for decades.

The star rose to fame in 1969 when he played Genghis Khan in ‘The Savage Curtain’ episode of Star Trek: The Original Series.

 

The six-foot-four actor was usually cast in ‘heavy’ or ‘enforcer’ type roles during his film and TV career due to his stature.

He appeared in several hit TV shows in the 1970s and 80s, including M*A*S*H, Starsky & Hutch, General Hospital, and Manimal.

Nathan also landed roles in CHiPS, Riptide, and Hunter.

He also starred in Sanford and Son, where he played Helen Funai’s cousin, Saburyo.

The actor also boasted a stint in the legendary TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Martial Law.
