Radio star Michelle Mullane has tragically died at the age of 50.

The former BBC Radio Manchester and XFM radio presenter died on Christmas Eve after fighting stage 4 bowel cancer for over a year.

The news of her death was confirmed by her friend and comedian Jason Manford, who paid tribute to her on Instagram.

It comes after Michelle was rushed to hospital in June last year with stomach pains.

She was then informed by doctors that she had six months to live without treatment.
