Metallica‘s iconic Black Album has returned to the top 10 on Billboard‘s all-genre 200 chart, driven by 30th Anniversary reissue.

The iconic metal band released a remastered deluxe box set of their most popular album in celebration of the 30th anniversary on September 10 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings.

The album entered the top 10 on the 200 chart for the first time in 29 years. The album surged from No. 158 to No. 9 on the September 25-dated chart, earning 37,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending September 16, up 397% according to MRC Data.

Metallica, commonly referred to as the Black Album, was the band’s fifth studio album. It received widespread critical acclaim and became the band’s best-selling album after originally releasing on August 12, 1991.

The album debuted at number one in ten countries and spent four consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, making it Metallica’s first album to top the album charts.
