Meghan Markle: The Royals LOVE Kate Middleton, And They ALWAYS Hated Me!
Last week, a cover story in the UK tabloid Tatler painted a very unflattering portrait of Kate Middleton.
Among other scathing claims, the magazine reported that Kate has spent several months griping that Meghan essentially ruined her life by stepping away from royal life and moving to America.
The article repeated the oft-circulated rumor that Kate got stuck with an increased workload when Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior members of the royal family.
“Kate is furious about the larger workload,” a source told Tatler.
“She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”
The anonymous insider told the magazine that Kate’s jealousy of Meghan dated back to the earliest days of her relationship with Harry, as the Duchess of Cambridge “secretly envied Meghan’s ability to speak her mind and make her own happiness a priority.”
Obviously, that’s a rather ironic claim given that Meghan was bullied by the tabloid press from the moment she first arrived in England.
These days, the most unscrupulous UK media outlets are feeling the absence of their favorite punching bag, and they relished the opportunity to scoop up Tatler’s coverage and turn their attention on Kate for a change.
It was the rare case in which the reports were so widespread and so credible that Kensington Palace officials felt the need to issue a response on Kate’s behalf.
Now a source tells The Daily Mail that Meghan was outraged by this intervention, as the same officials sat idly by while she was repeatedly harassed by the British media.
“Meghan said Kensington Palace never once came to her defense when she was being shredded by the media. Now Kate gets a bit of negative press, and the Palace comes out in less than 24 hours to rebuke the claims made against her,” says the insider.
“This is really a slap in the face for Harry because he repeatedly asked for an updated, revised media policy or at least a conversation about his concerns,” the source continues.
“All fell on deaf ears and then Kate comes along, snaps her fingers and gets an outpouring of support.”
The source goes on to say that Meghan is not surprised by the preferential treatment shown to Kate, but she still finds it upsetting.
“Meghan says it’s just so telling,” the insider says.
“She explained this was one of the main reasons why she and Harry said their goodbyes to royal life… the lack of support and complete disregard for the pain and anguish Meghan suffered while being crucified by the media,” the informant adds.
“Meghan said rather than backing her, she was made to feel like she was asking too much, expecting too much, when all she wanted was support from the powers that be.”
The Tatler piece took a decidedly pro-Meghan stance with regard to the long standing feud between Kate and Meghan, claiming that Middleton meddled in Markle’s wedding and became upset when some of her input was less then welcome.
The Mail’s insider claims that the feud is every bit as intense as the media has claimed, and the two women are no longer on speaking terms.
“Meghan said on her last trip to England, Kate barely said two words to her and that it’s absolutely preposterous for her to start playing the blame game,” the tipster says.
“Of all the people in the royal family, Meghan said she had hoped to develop a close relationship with Kate, but was never given the chance,” the source adds.
“It was hurtful and disappointing for Meghan.”
While the two finally fell out over disagreements involving Meghan’s wedding, the source says they duchesses really never got along with one another.
“Meghan said Kate never gave her the benefit of the doubt or reached out to her when she was at her lowest, struggling to adjust with very few friends.” the insider claims.
“Had the roles been reversed, Meghan said she would have gone out of her way to make Kate feel part of the family. She would have embraced their sisterhood.”
As for Kate’s alleged complaints about her increased workload, it seems she won’t be receiving much sympathy from Meghan.
“Meghan said Kate only has herself to blame for not setting limits and for not speaking up for herself,” the insider says.
She may have had to move halfway across the world in order to do so, but at least Meghan is finally having the last laugh.
