Meghan and Kate Had Twinning Royal Engagements Today

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton had events scheduled back-to-back today, and obviously all I want to do is make a really nerdy “double the duchess, double the fun” style joke right now, but I’ll spare you.

It’s pretty unusual for two prominent royals to have engagements on the same day at ~almost~ the same time, but apparently Kensington Palace is mixing it up in 2019!

First, let’s talk about Megs—who spent her day visiting Mayhew (one of her brand new royal patronages), an organization that aims to reduce the number of animals in need through community initiatives.

One of the many other successful schemes @themayhew facilitates is #PetRefuge, which provides shelter and care for the pets of people facing crisis (be it financial problems, unemployment etc).pic.twitter.com/698p2HiTeW

Here, enjoy some videos of Megs with some very good boys:

Meanwhile, Kate showed up at the costume department of the Royal Opera House, wearing a £2,700 magenta Oscar de la Renta suit (the jacket’s on sale here!) and some Rupert Sanderson heels:

She didn’t get to play with dogs, but watching dance rehearsals seems like a pretty chill work day:

It’s unclear when the sister-in-law duo will attend their next event together, but in the meantime pretty costumes and cute dogs it is.
