Former The Only Way Is Essex star Maria Fowler has been praised by fans after sharing a candid Instagram post about her body.
Posting a snap in her underwear where she was seen pointing at her stomach, Maria, 34, wrote: “Hey I’ve got scars! I’ve got this big one right here. I’ve got one under each boob, one on my back where I had a mole removed and I even have one on my chin from where Ben pulled the chair from under me in year 2 and my face hit the table.”
She added: “I’ve also got rubbish legs, and cellulite, and an annoying hole where I had my belly pierced when I was 14. And at the minute I’ve got back fat, quite a bit.

“Some of my scars you can’t even see, some of them are in my memory, crap things have happened in my life, things I try and forget about.”
Maria, who is mum to daughters Evie, four, and three-month-old Nellie with husband Kelvin Batey, then reflected on the positives.
She continued: “But you know what… loads of good things have happened too, I fulfilled my dreams, I’ve travelled, a lot. I got married… me, yes me, Married!!!

“I have got not only one beautiful daughter, but two. I like my eyes, my hairs grown and it looks good! I’m quite funny at times. My friends are awesome, so are my family. So, so what if I have scars? we all have them visible scars and those pesky ones in our memories that nobody else can see.
“If I hadn’t had those scars, I wouldn’t have my babies. And as for those mental scars, they helped me grow into the person I am, they made me realise that when a good man appeared that he was good and I should hold onto him and not push him away. They made me realise I can’t control how others treat me but I can control how I react.
“They helped me walk away with nothing in my pocket and start again. That no matter how sh**ty life gets I would look back at all of these things and be proud, of my body, of my mind, who I am and remember that being perfect is boring anyway, I like eating chocolate, I love wine and actually, I quite like the imperfect texture of my skin.”

She ended the post: “So forget being perfect, who cares if that Instagram influencer has a banging body, it’s probably photoshopped anyway. Why are you comparing yourself to her?
“Does she have those memories you have? those beautiful children? the laugher at Christmas? The love, the scars? She isn’t you, you’re unique and you should own it!
“Stop comparing yourself to impossible ideals. Take a walk, eat well if you want to and don’t apologise for your flaws because they’re not flaws they’re all the unique things that make you you!”
The comment section was flooded with praise, with Maria’s former TOWIE co-star Lauren Pope writing: “What a caption, amazing,” alongside a love heart emoji.
Amy Childs commented: “Babe you look amazing xx.”
Maria’s followers were quick to compliment the star too as one wrote: “You are beautiful and real.”
Another said: “You are beautiful! You are real! You are life!” A third added: “Beautiful inside and out.”
