MAFS’ Martha Kalifatidis heads to hospital as she prepares to give birth
Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis has headed to the hospital as she prepares to welcome her first child, a baby boy, with fiancé Michael Brunelli.
The 34 year old took to Instagram to share a string of snaps, which saw her packing her bags as she gets ready to meet her bundle of joy.
In the photos, she could be seen holding up a baby grow, while another showed her designer luggage in the back of the car. She also shared a video as she waved goodbye to her mother. "We're off to the hospital to meet the baby," Martha was heard saying.
She captioned the post: "Bags are packed, we’re off! See you all soon… plus one."
Martha announced her pregnancy news in September 2022.
The couple met on the hit show MAFS Australia back in 2019 and have gone from strength to strength, with the pair getting engaged before sharing their baby joy.
"We wanted to explain our situation and make a little bit of an announcement. Martha is pregnant," Michael first shared.
Martha quickly chimed in to say that it's been a bit of a difficult pregnancy so far as she explained: "It hasn't been this exciting, wonderful time for us. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining.
"We are so excited, we are so happy, it was a compete surprise. But at five weeks I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.
"Which is severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is 24-7. I literally didn't get out of bed for two months."
Martha went on to detail how she lost 10 kilograms in five weeks as the intense condition left her unable to eat, drink or even get out of bed on occasion.
"We've just been in and out of the emergency room and hospital," Martha went on before gushing over her "amazing doctor" who gave her "life changing" medication.
She said: "It is helping me to feel human again and to start moving around again so here we are!"
It comes after Martha threw a lavish baby shower to celebrate the nearing birth of her son.
Describing the occasion as the "best day", she opted for a Peter Rabbit theme.
The venue was decked out with giant plastic flowers, a sweet cart, soft toys, a nappy tower and an outdoor pop-up nursery filled with a washing line, wicker hampers and even a cot.
