Love Island’s Adam Collard ‘joining Geordie Shore in huge shake-up on MTV show’
Hit MTV show Geordie Shore is having a summer shake-up and Love Island's Adam Collard is the first to join the new-look reality show.
The 22-year-old personal trainer from Newcastle is the first new name that will be announced after MTV bosses culled some of the characters following the last series, The Sun reports.
The TV hunk is thought to be a 'perfect fit' for the controversial reality show and a source told The Sun that after Geordie Shore "culled off the bigger names", the producers "realised they need more star quality."
Speaking about why Adam is wanted for the MTV show, the source cited his "huge following" and that he is "handsome, loves to party and will bring a new dimension to the house."
Adam is apparently 'preparing to sign up' and is a popular figure in and around Newcastle.
The source said that he is "happy being filmed going out partying and having fun with people like Chloe Ferry and Sam Gowland.”
Since the last series, Sophie Kasaei is the highest profile name to leave the show, citing 'personal reasons' for her decision to not return.
Adam would join a list of new characters who will look to freshen up the show, with Beau Brennan, Bethan Kershaw, Natalie Phillips and Tahlia Chung hoping to make an impression.
Mirror Online have contacted MTV for comment.
