Love Island viewers shocked as Scott enters USA villa weeks after Catherine reunion

Less than a month after being dumped from the Love Island villa, Welsh hunk Scott Van Der Sluis has shocked fans by continuing his search for romance on the US version of the show.

Scott was famously axed from the UK version of the show on July 26, after failing to find a strong connection with any of this year’s contestants.

However, outside the villa he appeared to have reconnected with stylish bombshell Catherine Agbaje, with the two even caught on camera as an intimate conversation was accidentally broadcast via livestream this week.

Scott even seemed to confirm rumours of a spark, when he told OK! “We care for each other” before adding that he would "Never say never” to rekindling the romance they almost enjoyed on the show.

However, that hope now seems to be off the table, following the news that Scott would be appearing on the US version of Love Island in a matter of days.

In a new trailer for the show, Scott can be seen introducing himself to viewers, as he tells them:"I'm Scott, I'm 22 and I'm from Wales in the UK.”

“ I was in Love Island UK. I didn't find love so I thought why not take it international.”

Following the announcement, fans didn’t hold back from sharing their thoughts on the matter, with one even suggesting that it had to be a “joke”.

One fan penned: "This is sick and twisted,” while another added: "I've never felt betrayal like this."

"How did Scott manage to film back to back seasons of love island and love island USA.," a third person commented

A fourth viewer then weighed in, writing: ”SCOTTTTTTT !!! OMGGGG please tell me this is a joke !!! Helpppppp.”

During his time in Love Island, Scott had briefly been coupled up with Catherine and thought they had a strong bond and plenty of chemistry.

However despite a promising start at a lasting romance, Catherine’s head was turned during the show’s infamous Casa Amor, prompting the bombshell to dump Scott in order to pursue a romance with newcomer Elom Ahlijah-Wilson.

"At the time, I was annoyed about it, because I don't mind people having opinions – I just hate people having opinions and speaking behind your back about it," he said.

Scott was then placed in a friendship with Abi Moore, but was sadly eliminated from the competition before he could have another chance at love.

Will he find a lasting romance across the pond?
