Kerry Katona ‘uncomfortable’ after op as she shows off body in exclusive pics

Kerry Katona says she’s still “self-conscious” about her stomach after undergoing corrective surgery last month for a previous botched tummy tuck.

The star – who was snapped wearing a stomach binder while on holiday in Turkey – has exclusively told us she’s still not feeling herself, admitting, “I’m not ready to show my stomach yet!”

“I’m still recovering after having my corrective surgery in January following a tummy tuck I had two years ago,” she told us.

“I’m feeling much better than I did, but I’m still feeling really swollen and uncomfortable after the operation and I’m not back to myself just yet.”

Kerry, 42, jetted off to Antalya for a 10-day break with fiancé Ryan Mahoney, 33, and her children Lilly, 20, who she shares with ex-husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 16, and Max, 14, her children with Mark Croft, and DJ, eight, her daughter with the late George Kay.

Kerry, who is also mum to Molly, 21, with Brian, admits she struggled with her confidence during the trip.

“I still don’t feel ready to show off my body – I’ve been covering up while I’m here in Turkey,” she said. “I’m still self-conscious and I’m just not 100% confident yet.

“While I’m healing, I’m wearing a corset stomach binder. I have to wear it at all times. I can only take it off before going in the water. That’s been quite uncomfortable, but it’ll be worth it.”

She added, “Ryan is really supportive and he loves me however I look, but I had this surgery for myself. I was so down about my stomach before and it knocked my confidence massively.”

Kerry underwent corrective surgery at Pall Mall Cosmetics in Manchester last month to fix her “lumpy and uneven” stomach following a secret tummy tuck she had at a different clinic in 2021.

Writing in her memoir, Kerry Katona: Whole Again, which was released last year, the former Atomic Kitten singer explained that she moved house when she should have been giving her tummy tuck surgery time to heal. She said the procedure was the “worst thing” she’d ever done and that it was her “own fault”.

This time, our columnist says she’s learned from her mistake and is “making sure I do it all properly”.

Kerry previously told how she had spent months crying over her body and was so upset she was unable to leave the house. But speaking just 36 hours after her corrective operation, she told us she was feeling “so happy”, adding that she “can’t wait to feel more like me again”.

She also said she was determined to shed 3st by her 43rd birthday later this year.

“I’m going to look amazing. I am on a mission. Once I put my mind to something, I see it through. I am going to look phenomenal,” she said. “I turn 43 in September and I can promise you now, I will be at my goal weight. I’m adamant!”

Writing in her weekly column in December, Kerry revealed that her swollen body was even affecting her breathing.

“I was lying down in bed and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. My throat and chest felt really tight, it was awful. I felt like I was going to die,” she shared.

“My body has been swollen since I had surgery last year. My whole body is sore and puffy – my legs, my stomach, my face, my neck. I feel like I need popping.”

Looking to the future, Kerry can’t wait to confidently wear a bikini once she’s healed.

“This operation has been a life-saver – it went so well. While I’m still swollen, I’m very happy with the results so far,” she said. “I can’t wait to show off my new stomach once I’m fully recovered.”
