Kerry Katona ‘couldn’t see Brian McFadden as much as she wanted to’ during failed marriage

Kerry Katona has revealed what it was like for her when she was pregnant with her eldest daughter Molly, now 21, while married to Westlife singer Brian McFadden.

Writing in her VIP column – only available for OK! VIPs – the 42 year old said: "When I was pregnant with our Molly, her dad Brian was touring with Westlife and I had times when I was alone. We never had facetime then and it was hard when I couldn’t see him as much as I wanted to."

Here, Kerry talks about feeling under the weather and explains why she's backing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new documentary…

Keep going

It's been a long week for me. I've been in rehearsals for panto, but I haven't been well at all. I feel like I've been so rundown and I just don't feel right in myself. I haven't been able to see a doctor, but it's all good – I've got to power through! Christmas is such a busy time and I can't afford to be feeling ill.

I've made a dent in my Christmas shopping because I knew I'd be in panto. I actually did most of it online because I just haven't had the time to go into the shops. All the kids are very excited and I'm also so excited to spend time with everyone I love this year.

I'm with Harry and Meghan

I started watching Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary and this might not be a popular opinion, but I’m with them all the way. They spoke about their experiences with the press and I’ve had bad experiences with some of the newspapers myself. I think it’s time they are left alone now. I think they seem great together. I don’t understand why they are constantly criticised and can’t be left to do what makes them happy?

As you know I’m a massive royalist, but they also need to modernise. That’s what was so great about Harry and Meghan – they breathed fresh air into the family and made them "normal". It’s such a shame what has happened but Harry and Meghan had to do what was right for them and we should support that.

Coping alone

Molly-Mae Hague has spoken about feeling lonely during her pregnancy when her partner Tommy Fury is away due to work. It’s hard for anyone going through something so huge when their partner isn’t always by their side and I know how that feels.

When I was pregnant with our Molly, her dad Brian was touring with Westlife and I had times when I was alone. We never had FaceTime then and it was hard when I couldn’t see him as much as I wanted to. I got on with it though, like I always do!

A great loss

It’s such devastating news about Kirstie Alley – she was a big part of my childhood. I watched Cheers all the time and my kids even love it. I got them into it because I loved it so much when I was growing up.

She took part in Celebrity Big Brother one year and I remember feeling absolutely gutted that it wasn’t the year when I took part. I would have loved to have shared that experience with her – she was an icon. It’s such sad news. What a great woman she was. My thoughts are with her family and close friends during this sad time.

Scared is normal

Stacey Dooley has opened up about being anxious that her baby won’t have any friends when they’re older. It might seem like a bit of a silly thing to some people given that Stacey hasn’t given birth yet, but I can really relate to what she is saying.

I remember thinking there was something wrong with me when I was pregnant – you can have some really scary thoughts. Your hormones make you feel like you are all over the place and nothing seems rational. Of course by the time you get to your fourth, then fifth, all of those crazy feelings disappear!
