Johnny Depp Provides Witnesses’ Accounts Contesting Amber Heard’s Abuse Story
AceShowbiz –Johnny Depp has filed new legal documents insisting he never laid a hand on ex-wife Amber Heard – or threw anything at her.
The actress claimed the actor launched a cell phone at her and beat her during a row at their Los Angeles home in 2016 amid the former couple’s bitter divorce battle, but now Depp is contesting her account as part of a defamation lawsuit against British newspaper The Sun.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s new documents, obtained by TMZ, include statements from witnesses who claim they saw Amber in the couple’s apartment building on the day of the alleged altercation and saw no red marks or bruising on her face.
Amber also took photos of broken glass in the apartment, claiming Johnny hurled glass and shattered it in the unit, but one witness insists there was no smashed glass “in the apartment at the time”.
He also points out that the two police officers who responded to reports of the fight gave depositions, in which they insisted they saw no injuries on Heard.
Johnny maintains the actress injured herself days after the fight and took pictures.
In his defamation suit against the tabloid, Depp writes: “They must have made a positive decision to present a totally one-sided picture, leaving out my side of the story and pretending it either did not exist or was not worth considering.”
Depp and Heard exchanged vows on February 3, 2015, but the marriage was doomed and the former couple separated in May, 2016. Heard went on to claim her marriage was filled with abuse and filed for divorce.
