Inside Meghan Markle’s short, sharp and chic maternity style

OK so the Duchess of Sussex was never going to succumb to a pair of leggings and a stretchy sweatshirt.

But despite being six months pregnant Meghan has worn some of her strongest looks to date.

Embracing her bump and clearly feeling good, she’s blooming – and that’s probably the reason she looks so fantastic.

But she’s also made some bold fashion choices and clearly has no intention of putting comfort over style.

The bright clashing colours that she wore on Monday being a good case in point.  The red coat was by Canadian brand Sentaler and Meghan teamed it with a purple dress by Aritzia and a pair of red £395 Stuart Weitzman heels.

Not only was the red and purple outfit a departure from her usual muted colour palette but it was ahead of the curve in terms of fashion.

Today the Duchess showcased another winning maternity look, this time by high street favourite H&M.

The MAMA fine knit dress is £24.99 and in available to buy in beige marl and grey.

The dress is a shorter style than we are used to seeing Meghan wearing and despite the cold she showed off a bare leg and pair or nude sling back heels.

The only other time we’ve seen Meghan opt for anything this short and sassy was on a theatre date with husband Prince Harry back in August 2018 whens he wore a short black tuxedo dress.

Meghan raised a few eyebrows when she wore a thigh skimming £327 Judith & Charles tuxedo dress which was branded her most daring outfit since becoming a member of the royal family.

On a visit to the Smart Works charity last week Meghan looked effortlessly chic in a £170.45 black ‘Eliza’ dress by maternity brand Hatch and a £2,600 tan oversized trench coat by Oscar de la Renta.

But it was her statement cow print Gianvitto Rossi ‘Plexi’ court shoes that got everyone talking.
