Happy Valley favourite Rhys Connah basks in newfound fame on star-studded red carpet
Happy Valley’s Rhys Connah enjoyed his newfound fame on Wednesday night as he attended the star-studded Creed III premiere following his success on the Sarah Lancashire-led show.
Rhys has portrayed Ryan Cawood since 2013 on the BBC’s highly acclaimed show Happy Valley, which follows Sarah’s character Sergeant Catherine Cawood and her team as they solve crimes in West Yorkshire.
On Wednesday, Rhys attended the Cineworld Leicester Square premiere of Creed III, starring Jonathan Majors, Michael B Jordan, Tessa Thompson and Florian Munteanu.
The third film in the franchise follows Adonis Creed, who comes face-to-face with Damian, an old childhood friend and boxing prodigy who is keen to make a name for himself after serving time in prison.
Rhys was photographed on the red carpet practically beaming as he sported a white shirt with the top two buttons undone.
He accented the dapper look with a blue wool blazer, beige chinos and smart brown shoes while styling his curly hair to sweep across his forehead.
Outside of Happy Valley, Rhys has also starred in 2015's The Messenger, The Runaways and the short film The Snow Maze.
Rhys was joined on the red carpet by some of the UK’s biggest names, including former JLS bandmember JB Gill who donned a luxurious suit.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil Jones attended the showing in a more casual outfit comprised of textured jeans, combat boots and a black t-shirt as he was joined by his girlfriend, Chyna Mills.
Chyna, who featured on Love Island last year with Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, wielded a black Yves Saint Laurent bag as she posed for pictures in a beige satin suit and accompanying bodice.
Nadiya Bychkova, who recently did a photoshoot with OK!, styled her long blonde hair into a ponytail that sat on top of her flowy gold dress as Kai Widdrington stood beside her in a three-piece suit and checkered tie.
Love Island’s Liam Reardon, who won the show with Millie Court back in 2021, attended the premiere on his lonesome but looked as hunky as ever as he posed in an all-black ensemble and mixed metal jewellery.
Dancing on Ice’s Michelle Heaton, who was eliminated in this year’s show with her skating partner Łukasz Różycki, kept it simple in a ruffled red dress while sporting a sharp brow and glamorous makeup.
While former Love Island contestant Maura Higgins wowed in a vintage Dolce & Gabbana outfit.
The dress flashed the perfect amount of skin, and Maura, who recently vacationed in Mexico, paired the outfit with lots of chunky jewellery and dark smokey makeup.
After giving herself a Pulp Fiction makeover earlier in the week, Maura stomped the red carpet in her first public appearance with the new choppy bob.
