‘Game of Thrones’ Star Pilou Asbaek Drops F-Bomb on Live TV at SAG Awards

The slip out aside, the Euron Greyjoy depictor reveals at the pre-event carpet interview that he considers the ending of hit HBO medieval fantasy series ‘perfect’ despite fans’ criticism.

AceShowbiz -“Game of Thrones” actor Pilou Asbaek was among the celebrities attending the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night, January 19. The Euron Greyjoy depictor was being interviewed about the HBO popular series when he dropped F-bomb while being on Live TV.

The Danish actor was asked what he got asked about, and he revealed that the question was unsurprisingly related to “Game of Thrones”, which ended last year. He told the reporters during the pre-show carpet, “You know what I get most now? ‘Why did you guys f**k up season 8?’ ?

Upon seeing the co-hosts’ shocked reactions, Asbaek explained that it would be normal to say the word in Europe. “We would do that in Europe! In Europe we can say that!” he said.

The slip out aside, Asbaek told EW and PeopleTV that he considered the ending of “Game of Thrones” “perfect” despite fans’ criticism. “When we had the read-through in Belfast, like two and half years ago, we ended up doing a standing ovation for 15, 20 minutes. It was a perfect ending,” he shared. “But people were upset because an era finished.”

However, he said he could understand the feelings of the disappointed fans. “I kind of get it,” he admitted. “I was a big fan of the show before I became a part of it, and if it had ended in that way, I would have been angry as well. Because when something you like so much says, ‘No,’ it’s like a break-up. And ‘Game of Thrones’ broke up with millions of people all over the world, and they got upset.”

“Game of Thrones” was among the winners at the ceremony that night. The medieval fantasy series, which also starred Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, was presented with a trophy for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series category. It also earned star Peter Dinklage an award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his stunning portrayal of Tyrion Lannister on the show.

The eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones” featured Jon Snow returning to the Night’s Watch and heading beyond the Wall after he killed his lover and aunt Daenerys. He left the throne for Bran while Sansa was named Queen in the North.
