Fans baffled after discovering what Danny Dyer actually does in Nativity play

Danny Dyer has left fans mystified, baffled and feeling short changed after appearing in a new production of a Christmas musical for a fraction of the running time.

The 41-year-old hard man is currently starring alongside his 22-year-old Love Island winning daughter Dani in a stage version of the 2009 film Nativity.

Jo Brand and respected theatre performer Scott Garnham are also among the cast.

And while Danny and Dani have thrilled and delighted fans by appearing on stage together to sing a merry song while dressed in ridiculous costumes, some are livid that the EastEnders star is only on stage for 13 minutes.

In particular, some fans are outraged that tickets are being sold for up to £120.00.

Some have expressed anger that the man they consider to be the star of the show only shows up for ten per cent of the show – and misses out on the big show finale completely.

“It was a bit baffling that Danny wasn’t in the final song considering his daughter was,” a disgruntled audience member complained to The Sun.

“For the expensive ticket price, there was definitely an expectation amongst the crowd of seeing a bit more of the man himself,” they added.

However, many other fans have been delighted by Danny’s appearance – taking particular joy in the fact that he is happy to make a fool of himself on stage.

“Just seen @MrDDyer & Danni Dyer singing ‘have yourself a merry little christmas’ dressed as baubles. surreal but brilliant. #NativityTheMusical loved every second,” one thrilled fan wrote on Twitter.

Another gushed: “Well what can I say, my Christmas has been made after seeing @MrDDyer singing while dressed as a gold bauble in @nativityuk and @Dani_MasDyer has such a sweet voice. Congratulations to all, great show.”

And yet another fan insisted the Dyer’s were the highlight of the show.

“Brilliant show, well done to all the talented young ones and that moment with @MrDDyer and @Dani_MasDyer singing together was a touching father daughter moment! Hats off to all!” the fan tweeted.

Nativity The Musical is at London’s Eventim Apollo until December 31st.
