Coronation Street star’s working as a nail technician after quitting soap

Strictly: Georgia May Foote and Giovanni perform Cha Cha in 2015

Georgia May Foote made the surprise decision to go from acting on the cobbles to becoming a nail art technician, it has been revealed.

The 32-year-old is keen on nail art and gel polish and she is even offering her own one-to-one lessons teaching would-be creatives how to master their own designs.

It’s a dramatic departure from the showbiz lifestyle she enjoyed while on the cobbles, but she now has her own salon in Manchester, and it’s predicted to be huge.

The star qualified as a nail technician back in 2021, before announcing her business venture, GMF Nails – and the price tags on some of her classes aren’t cheap.

Announcing that two hours of private lessons will set back a buyer £150, while six hours are priced at £600, the actress, who has 533,000 followers, shared her business venture on Instagram.

“I will now be offering 1-1 lessons with myself! These lessons are for qualified nail techs who are looking to enhance and perfect their skills,” she wrote on her official nail page.

“Each tutorial will be fully tailored to each individual and what they wish to focus on. We can concentrate on prep and BIAB applications or nail art. Or both! The choice is yours!

“Each lesson comes with a goody bag worth over £50 for you to leave with. DM to book in! Any questions please ask.”

She married her musician fiancé Kris Evan last month following a two year engagement, and she announced to fans two weeks after tying the knot that she’d had the help of the Hitched app in the planning stage.

The app allows users to “browse over 21,000 wedding venues & suppliers from entertainment and photographers to cakes and florists”, and Georgia revealed she had used it to find a dream venue.

The promotion caused drama on Instagram, with one follower cattily quizzing: “Do you ever actually pay for anything in your life? Even your wedding was sponsored.”

Georgia replied: “It actually wasn’t love. It was all very much saved up for and paid for by us. Please be a nice person or unfollow me if you are offended by my life.”

She also revealed that her husband had been through “16 packs of tissues” on the emotional big day, which took place in a romantic log cabin.

Meanwhile, Georgia has previously made it clear that quitting Corrie doesn’t equate to quitting showbiz.

After leaving the show, she landed a role on Strictly Come Dancing, going on to date pro partner Giovanni Pernice for months afterwards following on from a romance with Corrie co-star Sean Ward (Callum Logan).

Meanwhile, in 2021, she played a role in American adventure drama The Outpost, while addressing rumours that she was leaving the industry.

“Acting is my main career and always will be. But nails gives me that little bit of head space and security most actors need! I am very grateful you have all supported me every time I have had to run off to film something!” she clarified on Instagram.

“I have been an actress for 22 years of my 30 year life and I wouldn’t change it for the world,” she stated, adding: “I never will.”
