Cardi B Finding Out About Her Grammy Nods While Heading to Court Will Have You on the Floor
It’s safe to say Cardi B had a better court date than most on Friday. The 26-year-old rapper was on her way to a hearing for a case about her alleged involvement in a club brawl when someone among the crowd of photographers and onlookers notified her that she was nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. “I am? How many nominations?” Cardi responded, smiling as security made sure she kept walking. After finding out that she received a whopping five nominations, she gave the most Cardi B response possible. If that’s not an actual mood, I don’t know what is.
Cardi further reacted to the news on Instagram when she posted a video of herself finding out about her nominations. “What a way to find out i got 5 Grammys nominations,” she wrote. “I’m tellin you my life is a movie. I work my ass off for this!” Cardi is nominated for album of the year and best rap album for Invasion of Privacy, record of the year for “I Like It,” best pop duo/pop performance for “Girls Like You,” and best rap performance for “Be Careful.” We’ll get to see if she snags any wins when the ceremony goes down on Feb. 10, 2019. Oh, and in case you were wondering, she avoided arrest at the hearing.
