Cardi B and Offset’s relationship became more about ‘business’

Cardi B and Offset’s marriage became more of a “wink and nod,” according to an insider, as their careers rose together.

“They were really together, of course. But, after a while, it was more for business,” the insider said. “They’re both very street, and they have smart people who are savvy and made it known that [being together] is a smart business arrangement for everyone.”

The source added, “Celebrity couples play well. It was a lucrative business arrangement for both of them. They’re enormous stars. Their relationship was more of a wink-and-nod, we’re together, but we’re not together. They played it up for as long as they could.”

Cardi confirmed they split on Instagram on Wednesday.

The bombshell breakup comes months after the couple welcomed a baby, and after ongoing reports about Offset’s alleged unfaithfulness, which he’s adamantly denied.

“I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby’s father for a hot minute now. We’re really good friends and we’re really good business partners . . . but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,” Cardi B said in a video post early Wednesday. “It’s nobody’s fault, I guess we just grew out of love, but we’re not together anymore,” she added, figuring: “It might take time to get a divorce.”

Later Wednesday, she posted the first public image of the couple’s baby, Kulture.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper and the Migos star have been married since September 2017.

He famously proposed to her onstage in Philadelphia, but the pair had already secretly tied the knot.

On Monday, Cardi B missed a court appearance regarding charges for assault and reckless endangerment over a fight that took place at a Queens strip club.

She allegedly ordered pals to beat up waitresses at the club because she thought they had slept with Offset.

A separate report this week claimed Offset texted with a woman in June about hooking up with her and a female rapper, Cuban Doll. But Offset denied he contacted the women.

His comment to Cardi B’s breakup post was simply, “Y’all won.”

Reps did not comment.
