Fans of Bridgerton are set to be thrilled as season two filming resumed in the heart of London on Tuesday.
Jessica Madsen, who appeared in the first series of the Netflix period drama, joined newcomers Melissa Advani and Priya Kansara donning their very best period ensembles to kick off filming at the historic Old Royal Naval College at the University Of Greenwich.
The show’s creator Chris Van Dusen promised viewers a love story ‘as sweeping and moving and as beautiful as viewers have come to expect’ for the upcoming season, despite the absence of heartthrob Rege-Jean Page as The Duke Of Hastings.
At last! Filming for the second series of Bridgerton finally kicked off on Tuesday, as some of the period drama’s cast were spotting donning period attire to record scenes in Greenwich, south London
Getting into character for the scenes, Jessica donned an elegant pink floral dress and a matching headpiece as part of her 19th Century inspired look for filming.
The actress, who plays Cressida Cowpe in the show, could be seen in the midst of a conversation with her co-stars who were both dressed in matching lime green and pink dresses.
During the show’s first series, Cressida proved to be an ill-mannered debutante who ended up at loggerheads with the series’ titular character Daphne in their battle for suitors.

Who is Melissa Advani?
Melissa, who will join Bridgerton’s cast as Lady Eaton for the second series,, has had a handful of TV roles including a one-off appearance in the soap Doctors.
She has also starred in several short films including Everywhere, Vicente and the 2014 horror film Bloodless.
Melissa also played the role of real-life honour killing victim Samia Shahid in a documentary about her death, which is yet to be tried in court.
Who is Priya Kansara?
Priya Kansara is also relatively new to acting, with a small number of roles, including an appearance in the UCL Acting Society’s production of James and the Giant Peach.
She also appeared as a dancer on the short-lived reboot of BBC’s The Generation Game.
Priya has also taken to the stage with various musical theatre companies, at iconic venues such as Novello Theatre and Theatre Royal Drury Lane
The star will reprise her role as the acid-tongued gossip for the upcoming second series, which will see a slew of new actors join the already vast lineup of actors.

The two actress donned vast blue dresses, along with black padded coats during the chilly weather, as they slowly made their way down the concrete steps on their way to the vast set.
The first season focused on the romance between Daphne Bridgerton, portayed by Phoebe Dynevor, and Simon, Duke of Hastings, the role which Rege-Jean Page bade farewell to last month – to the dismay of his many fans.

Simone Ashley was announced to be playing Kate, and her character’s surname has been altered to reflect Simone’s South-Asian background.
The show has been praised for mixing up tired casting, and featuring BAME cast members in prominent societal roles such as Regé-Jean as the Duke of Hastings, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, and Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury.
Fans were left shocked recently when breakout star Page, 31, revealed he wouldn’t be reprising his role as the Duke of Hastings in the groundbreaking period drama.
His appearance came after Bridgerton’s executive producer Shonda ‘dismissed’ the idea of creative differences being the reason behind his exit from the Netflix show.
In a recent interview, she addressed the actor’s departure from the popular period drama for the first time, saying she was ‘shocked’ at the fans’ response to the news.
Yet she shut down talk that she was behind the decision, telling Vanity Fair: ‘There’s a lot of fantastically interesting talk that’s been going on, mainly cause I think people are having a hard time letting go.’
She also dismissed claims that Regé-Jean turned down a deal for cameo appearances in Bridgerton’s second season, after it was reported that his lesser role in the next season was behind his reason to quit the show.
Reiterating that she had only made a one-season deal with the star, Shonda said she didn’t expect ‘this much of an explosion’ from the viewers.
Regé-Jean shot to global stardom after appearing as handsome heartthrob Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings, in the first season of the show.
It centred on his character’s romance with leading lady Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor.
Netflix said in the first 28 days that the show was online, Bridgerton was streamed in 82 million households, and it came as little surprise when it was renewed for a second season in January.
